Sauna Myth Buster Quiz

My group chat has been arguing about saunas for years. Somebody always brings up sweating out a hangover. Somebody else says it is a myth. Nobody ever wins, because nobody ever had a referee. Now we have one, sort of.

The quiz does not lecture, either. It just hands you the verdict and lets you sit with it, which is very sauna of it. No signup wall, no newsletter trap at the end. You answer, you get ranked, you go argue about it.

A site called Sauna Myth Buster Quiz dropped twelve sauna myths in front of you, each one a simple true or false call. Sounds easy. It is not. The first question already caught most of the people I sent it to, myself included, and I grew up with a kiuas in the basement. That stung a little.

My oldest son blew through it in about three minutes and got ranked a Certified Löyly Master. He has not stopped mentioning it. My brother-in-law landed on Sauna Tourist, which is now the funniest word in our family vocabulary. He keeps demanding a rematch, which is not how quizzes work, but here we are.

Twelve questions does not sound like much until you are on question four, staring at a statement you have repeated your whole life, wondering if your grandfather was wrong. That is the moment this quiz is built for. Some of the myths are things Finnish people say without thinking. Some are things every sauna forum on the internet argues about monthly. All of them are scored the same way: you either knew, or you guessed with confidence.

Finish it and you get a rank: Sauna Tourist, Casual Relaxer, or Certified Löyly Master. If you score Tourist, the quiz cannot stop you from retaking it. The people around you can only judge you silently. That is the whole game, and it works.
